THE SCIENCE OF XT-70

THE ORIGIN: Developed in the 1980s to solve the problem of pricing guns smearing on frozen poultry. It wasn't designed for graffiti; it was designed to bite through ice and wax.

THE MECHANISM:

  • 1. The Bite: Uses Propyl Acetate and MIBK to chemically dissolve the top micron of plastic substrates.
  • 2. The Ghost: Basic Violet 1 carried by Methanol penetrates deep into the molecular pore structure.

INDUSTRIAL BATCHING PROCEDURE

STEP 1: THE SOLVENT BASE

In a grounded stainless steel vessel, combine the Ethanol, Methanol, and Isopropanol. Once mixed, add the heavier solvents (n-Propyl Acetate, n-Butanol, and MIBK). Agitate slowly to prevent static buildup.

STEP 2: THE RESIN CUT

Slowly sift the Polyamide Resin into the solvent vortex. This resin is difficult to dissolve cold. In an industrial setting, the jacketed tank would be heated to 35°C. For reconstruction, stir vigorously until the solution is amber and clear with no solids remaining.

STEP 3: THE VIOLET GHOST

Add the Basic Violet 1 powder last. This dye is extremely potent. Mix for 30 minutes to ensure full saturation. Filter through a 100-micron mesh to remove undissolved dye particles before bottling.

PROJECT FUSION

UNOFFICIAL NITRO-SPINOFF VARIANT
THE "SWELLING" MECHANISM

This spinoff abandons the standard ink base for a Nitrocellulose Lacquer (Celluloid). The secret weapon is Methyl Salicylate (Wintergreen Oil). In industrial chemistry, it acts as a Swelling Agent, forcing plastic surfaces to open up and accept the dye before the lacquer seals it.

SYNTHESIS PROCEDURE
01

THE BREAKDOWN

Cut balls into quarters. Drop into 300ml Acetone. They will dissolve into goo in 20 mins.

02

THE STABILIZER

Add 100ml Xylene. This retards the drying time to allow smooth flow.

03

THE FUSION

Add 30ml Wintergreen Oil and 25g Methyl Violet. Shake violently.
